Individuals

Bootup is actively seeking new members of all skill levels. Although we're primarily a Johns Hopkins University student organization, we welcome all members of the Baltimore community. No extensive computer knowledge is required for any aspect of the organization. We will teach you all you need to know about the lesson plans and about hardware repair. If you have skill/interest in any of these areas, we'd love to work with you:

  • Hardware and computer repair
  • Technology education and working with grade school students
  • Linux and open source software (GIMP, Open Office, etc.)
  • Programming (Python, etc.)

Those In Need

Bootup's mission is to provide computer access to those who would not otherwise be able to have it. If you're a Baltimore resident and you need a computer for work or education, please feel free to contact us. Although Bootup primarily operates through schools and other established community venues, we may be able to help you, or refer you to someone who can.
